For Quitllet, the future embodies an optimistic realm of imagination. Whether designing objects or spaces, he directs his gaze towards the world, seeking to reinvigorate our perception of it. His designs often exhibit a touch of humor while elegantly navigating the interplay of fullness and emptiness. Examples include the Masters chair, which cleverly integrates elements from iconic designs by Eames, Saarineen and Jacobsen.

‘Masters’ Chair

Quitllet's signature design approach pervades his diverse projects such as the Shine vases, Light Air lamp and O Ring watch, which modernizes traditional watchmaking codes. He possesses an insatiable appetite for transforming our environment into uniquely reimagined creations.

Among Eugeni’s numerous awards are such honors as 2010 Good Design Award and 2013 Red Dot Design Award for the Kartell 'Masters' chair, as well as honors like the Talents du Luxe et de la Création Prize for Innovation and the German Design Awards for various projects. In 2020, Quitllet received the GALAXSEA PROJECT Future Mars Life Design Competition award in China, among other recognitions.

GALAXSEA PROJECT

GALAXSEA PROJECT is Quitllet’s dream: propelled by sunlight and hosting 15,000 passengers, a spaceship would be 3D printed in cosmos using asteroids as mines and a key source of material to build this space sailing “boat".

As impressive as this endeavor appears, given the rapid advancements in technology, it may soon become feasible to embark on journeys through the vastness of space aboard the designer's spacecraft.
