Where Contemporary Elegance Meets Timeless Charm

Roisin Lafferty, the founder of Kingston Lafferty Design (KLD), established the studio in 2010, leveraging her innate artistic talent and passion for design. With a background in Interior Architecture and Furniture Design, followed by a Master's in Product and Spatial Design, she has honed her skills to deliver exceptional design solutions. Supported by CEO Becky Russell, who shares her vision and brings valuable business acumen, KLD is a globally recognized award-winning studio creating breathtaking interiors. KLD's diverse team of architects, designers, and marketing experts blends local insights with global perspectives to push design boundaries. Their bold approach creates unique spaces tailored to each client, prioritizing authenticity and aiming to inspire emotion and imagination. Rejecting a one-size-fits-all approach, KLD challenges norms, exceeds expectations and enhances the experience of the world for inhabitants. | One of KLD’s praised projects is ‘The Estate’, a picturesque Late Georgian house nestled in Wicklow County amidst lush trees and roaming horses. The interplay between old and new elements is evident yet seamless, with overlapping materials and styles creating cohesive and practical spaces. Through clever use of glazing and light, the boundaries between indoors and outdoors blur, inviting the natural surroundings to become part of the interior experience. Step into a world where contemporary elegance meets timeless charm. ‘The Estate’ embraces the enchanting ambiance where beauty meets nature, offering a sanctuary that transports you to a bygone era. This project was honored with the 2024 Best Residential Interior Design Project award at the Createurs Awards. |
As you traverse through this space, you're greeted by traditional crown moldings adorning the ceilings, a nod to the heritage of the home. Yet, juxtaposed against these classic elements are modern furnishings and lighting fixtures, illuminating the room with sophistication.
But it's the industrial edge that truly sets this space apart. Chemically treated steel panels line some of the walls and the staircase, their raw texture exuding an urban charm. Over time, these panels develop a natural patina, adding depth and character to the environment.

As you move through this passage, each element seamlessly blending with the next, you're enveloped in a harmonious fusion of past and present, tradition and innovation. It's a testament to the artistry of design, where disparate elements come together to create a truly captivating experience.
